Filament & Print Cost Calculator
Enter what your spool actually cost and how the print is set up. This adds filament and electricity together — it doesn't guess at your time or a markup, since that depends entirely on why you're printing.
How this is calculated
Filament cost is (print weight ÷ spool weight) × spool price. Electricity cost is(print hours × watts ÷ 1000) × rate per kWh. The failed-print allowance spreads the average cost of occasional failed prints across successful ones — a 10% allowance means the tool assumes roughly 1 in 10 attempts fails, and divides your cost by (1 − failure rate) to reflect that.
This intentionally leaves out your own time, machine depreciation, and any markup — those depend on why you're printing (personal project vs. selling parts) in a way a generic calculator can't assume for you.
